Iran multimedia concert honored by Ferdowsi Foundation

The Ferdowsi Foundation honors the Si concerts, still running in Tehran’s Sadabad Cultural-Historical Complex.

A group of Iranian artists including vocalist Homayoun Shajarian, instrumentalist Sohrab Purnazeri and many renowned Iranian thespians are performing at the concert.

The multimedia concert received the honor for focusing on stories from Persian poet Ferdowsi’s epic masterpiece Shahnameh.

Titled ‘Si’, the concert is based on stories written by Ferdowsi, including ‘Rostam and Esfandyar’, ‘Zal and Rudabeh’ and ‘Rostam and Sohrab’.

Completed in 1010, the ‘Shahnameh’ is an epic Persian poem of nearly 60,000 verses by great Iranian literary master Ferdowsi.
